Apacheria with Wray - An Interview

Aguardamos o segundo trabalho ansiosamente.

***** Interview with Wray *****

Q. When did Wray started, tell us about the history...
We started in fall of 2012 with shared influences and a specific concept of writing unspecific music.

Q: Who are your influences?
Collectively our influences are vast. Some bands that we all listen to often: INXS, Fleetwood Mac, Roxy Music, Cocteau Twins, science fiction, Philip Glass, Neu!, Ocean Blue, Stereolab, Brian Eno, ELO, Flock of Seagulls....and the list goes on...

Q. Make a list of 5 albums of all time…
1. Roxy Music Avalon
2. Fleetwood Mac Mirage
3. INXS Shabooh Shoobah
4. Cocteau Twins Heaven or Las Vegas
5. New Order Power Corruption and Lies

Q. How do you feel playing live?
Anxious, comfortable, focused, and entranced

Q. How do you describe Wray sounds?
Repetitive, ethereal, loud, layered, and driving

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs?
For our first record, we fairly quickly recorded the songs we already had written. For our 2nd record, which will be out at the end of the summer, we spent more time writing in the studio. We delved deeper into the process, carving out tones and building a cohesiveness.

Q. Which new bands do you recommended
Protomartyr, Tamaryn, Be Forest, Lone, Eagulls

Q: Which bands would you love to make a cover version of?
Actually we have a cover of Jennifer by Faust that will be on our new record, Hypatia. We attempted a Chills cover a couple years ago

Q: What´s the plan for the future....
Hypatia will be released shortly and then we plan to keep touring....hopefully hit up Brazil sometime.

Q: Any parting words?
Thanks for including us in your blog!
