Room With A View with Daguerreotype - An Interview

***** Interview with Daguerreotype *****

Q. When did Daguerreotype start? Tell us about the history...
Daguerreotype started in the autumn of 2014, I had some songs written and showed them to the band, but our first few shows were half original and half cover material by The Byrds and Television Personalities.

Q: Who are your influences?
Our influences are diverse but the two most important ones are My Bloody Valentine and Cleaners From Venus. Without these two groups we would not be the same.

Q. Make a list of 5 albuns of all time…
Loveless by MBV,
Low by David Bowie,
Darkness on the Edge of Town by Bruce Springsteen,
Heaven or Las Vegas by Cocteau Twins,
Comes a Time by Neil Young

Q. How do you feel playing live?
I love playing live, we play with energy Energetic pop songs that have been floating through outer space or under the ocean

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs ?
I will show a song idea to each member of the band and we write parts together. We typically record things to our four-track tape machine.

Q. Which new bands do you recommend?
New bands I love are EZTV, Chris Cohen, Warehouse, The Pills, Jade TV Last Halloween,

Q: Which band would you love to made a cover version of?
We played a Byrds cover set and it was very fun. In the future I would love to do a My Bloody Valentine set covering stuff from their early EP's

Q: Any parting words?
Keep on Rockin' brother.
Thanks for listening, thanks for writing!
