A Hot Second With The Velveteins - An Interview

Feito isso, a somatória dessa alquimia daria no The Velveteins.

Experimente A Hot Second with The Velveteins e sinta o odor de como tudo era antes, só que com o imenso detalhe, estamos em 2016.

***** Interview with The Velveteins *****

Q. When did The Velveteins start?
In the summer of 2014 Addison Hiller and Myself (Spencer Morphy) got together and wrote some songs, after I had spent the following year tramping around Australia.

Q. Tell us about the history...
It all originated as a solo project for me. I was down in Australia for about half a year when I was 18 just surfing and kicking back. I made up my mind to pursue music as a full time job. I booked my ticket home and contacted Addison pitching the idea that he played drums. I got back and we basically wrote all the songs from "A Hot Second" that summer.

Q: Who are your influences?
For myself alot of 60's acts The Kinks, Rolling Stones, Grateful Dead and some contemporary bands like King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard, Andy Shauf, and Chance The Rapper

Q. Make a list of 5 albums of all time…
Exile On Main Street - Rolling Stones
Doolittle - The Pixies
Forever Changes - Love
Pet Sounds - The Beach Boys
High On You - Sly Stone

Q. How do you feel playing live?
We usually just get so excited to play we are stoked the whole time. We are pretty high energy band and its pretty fun to transmit our energy in a live setting.

Q. How do you describe The Velveteins sounds?
I dunno super hard to summarize ourselves. A blog once described us as "T.Rex covering the Everly Brothers"

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs ?
I would say Addison and I write the songs together. We compile ideas and work through it together.

Q. Which new bands do you recommend?
Altameda (From Edmonton) and SWEAT (from Montreal). Super tight band, and super tight homies!

Q: Which band would you love to made a cover version of?
Van Halen! Or Steppenwolf

Q: What are your plans for the future?
We are working on our debut LP currently!
