Glider with FOREVR - An Interview

***** Interview with FOREVR *****

Q. When did FOREVR started, tell us about the history...
Donnie and I met in 2014 at his studio, Nowhere Audio, when he recorded two of my previous bands. We started writing songs together late last year. DEMONSTRATION is our first demo, and we have our first show this week. We are basically brand new.

Q: Who are your influences?
Donnie pretty much only likes My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive and Elliot Smith. I love Björk, Kate Bush, Cocteau Twins and Beach House, and I'm super into the pop songwriting of Canadian band Alvvays. I am trying my best to steal St Vincent's and FKA Twigs' synth sounds. We both like Haim and Warpaint a lot.

Q. Make a list of 5 albums of all time…
Cocteau Twins, Heaven or Las Vegas
My Bloody Valentine, Loveless
Kate Bush, Hounds Of Love
Björk, Post
Warpaint, Warpaint

Q. How do you feel playing live?
We will find out on Thursday.

Q. How do you describe FOREVR sounds?
Someone on Tumblr called it "my bloody cocteau twins", which might be accurate. When I describe the band to other people I just say it's loud, beautiful, and emotionally ambiguous.

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs?
We play as a duo which means we need to use programmed drums and bass, and we like how that sounds, so that's what will probably end up on the record. Because Donnie is an audio engineer we can do everything ourselves, which is ideal.

Q. Which new bands do you recommended?
Our mates Ultra Material have an album coming out pretty soon which is great. Danyl Jesu are super-intense heavy music that sort of feels like dying in ecstasy. True Widow are 2015's best country band.

Q: Which bands would you love to make a cover version of?
I want to cover 'Seasons' by Future Islands. Donnie wants to cover 'I Will Wait For You' by Connie Francis.

Q: What's the plan for the future....
We're putting our demo out on tape within the next couple of months, and we're going to start recording an album real soon. Then: the world.

Q: Any parting words?
Thanks for getting in touch! It's a pleasure to be on your blog.
