Sweet Dreams with Vague Notion - An Interview

***** Interview with Vague Notion *****

Q. When did Vague Notion started, tell us about the history...
1. Vague Notion began 20 years ago when Bevan and Cheryl had their first date which happened to be a recording session. In 2012, they began exploring with electronics and Ableton. This new medium allowed their diverse styles to meld beautifully to create something fresh and modern.

Q: Who are your influences?
2. Between the two, influences are broad and far reaching both geographically and sonically. From Jazz to electronica, from Africa to South America and all points in between.

Q. Make a list of 5 albums of all time…

4.Playing live is exhilarating, rewarding, fun and at times can be nerve wracking. It is a true test of a musicians mettle and we love it.

Q. How do you describe Vague Notion sounds?
5.It's a modern sound with lots of power, weighty lyrics, dense beats with a sawtooth ambience. Highly original, expansive electronica with an artful edge. We call it Deep Mountain Electronica.

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs?
6.We tend to record our ideas separately first and then we each pick what we would like to work on. We lay down our own tracks on the others ideas and then we discuss the collaboration further.
