Blown a Wish with SalsaCinderella - An Interview

***** Interview with SalsaCinderella *****

Q. When did Salsa Cinderella started, tell us about the history...
It started in 2009, several months after being fired of 'Team Ghost' because of my behavior. I was mentally ill at this time. I wasn’t able to do anything right. Both in music and in my relationship with people. Still, I decided to write my own songs, again, since i quit in 1999. Yeah, before 1999 i used to play and write songs, as well. Anyway, that’s why it took years for me to release something.

Q: Who are your influences?
Punk Rock and Folk music. From Neil Young to 'Hüsker Dü' and everything in between.

Q. Make a list of 5 albums of all time…
Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
Ol’ Dirty Bastard - Return To The 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version
Nirvana - Bleach
Sonic Youth - Evol
Talk Talk - Spirit Of Eden

Q. How do you feel playing live?
Angry at the beginning, then dazed & confused and happy at the end. I don’t know for the others, but Thibault is surely pissed all the time! (laughs)

Q. How do you describe Salsa Cinderella sounds?
Punk Rock, Dance, Hip-Hop? I would love to create that heterogenous stuff as 'Ciccone Youth' did on 'The Whitey Album' which mixes up damn good.

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs?
Drums at Thibault’s place (a music school) / Vocals, guitars, synths and bass at Nicolas’s place. Cheap Materials, cheap instruments, cheap places here.

Q. Which new bands do you recommended?
Have you ever listened to 'KG'? It’s not a new band but recently they have released a LP ('Passage Secret'), after 12 years and this is one of the best things i recently heard!

I really like 'Perfume Genius' as well.

Q: Which band would you love to made a cover version of?
'Some Velvet Sidewalk'

Q: What´s the plans for future...
Release our second EP in 2015. Find a record label. Play worldwide. Become billionaires. Be part of music history. Get involved in politics.

Q: Any parting words?
Thank you Renato. Keep up the good work.
