Away With Melancholy with Real Ghosts - An Interview

***** Interview with Real Ghosts *****

Q. When did Real Ghosts start, tell us about the history...
After the reign of Lansing, MI legends Half Bodies ended, we were left with empty souls. In the wake of defeat, we united with Ian's gentle soul and the spiritual connection was too overwhelming to be ignored. Thus, Real Ghosts was born.

Q: Who are your influences?

Q. Make a list of 5 albums of all time…
Hunky Dory by David Bowie
Last Splash by The Breeders
Loveless by MBV ;)
Away With Melancholy by The Natural Yogurt Band
Yuck by Yuck

Q. How do you feel playing live?
Like a buzz saw is tearing into our hearts, but in a good way.

Q. How do you describe Real Ghosts´ sound?
Chains rattling in the cells of an old and musty dungeon + reverb

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs?
We recorded our most recent EP in the Cloud Room, our basement practice space. All of the instruments were recorded live, and vocals were added later. V made his mixing debut using FL Studio to tame the raw tracks.

Q. Which new bands do you recommended
Protomartyr's newest album ripped the paint of the walls, and Ritual Howls' most recent release sounds like the soundtrack to the Apocalypse.

Q: Which bands would you love to make a cover version of?

Q: What´s the plan for the future....
In the springtime we shall rise out of our coffins and tour a lil bit (East Coast bookers, hey sup?)

Q: Any parting words?
hakuna matata bb
