Filthy Famous with Mint - An Interview

*****  Interview with Mint *****

Q. When did Mint start? tell us about the history...
1 We got our start about a year ago. Kyla and i are husband and wife, she said let's start a band. And I always enthusiastic was like let's do it! And mint was made. Kyla have been playing bass for very long she's actually been learning guitar and I said let's pick up a bass and get to work

Kyla hadn't played bass for very long she's actually learning guitar so I said let's pick up a base and get to work*

Q: Who are your influences?
2 A lot of bands and musicians. Love the white stripes, the cure, Elliott Smith, pixies, my bloody Valentine, sonic youth, nirvana, the list could go on for ever but ill stop there.

Q. Make a list of 5 albuns of all time…
3 Thats sooo hard! Id say dark side of the moon, never mind, white stripes self title album, sgt peppers, figure 8. the list will change in 2 minutes.

Q. How do you feel playing live?
4 Playing live is like the best drug you can ever take. It just fills us with this high that you we cant get enough of. Ever!

Q. How do you describe Mint sounds?
5 We just play what we write, and we just write what comes. We like to make our music like a rollercoaster. Extremely high energy loud parts, with dives and curved soft mellow float away parts as well.

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs ?
6 recording we like to get the drum tracks taken care of and then the rest of us can kind of play what comes to us. Kyla likes to have her lyrics written out, and i like going in and just free styling it.

Q. Which new bands do you recommended?
7 Mint! Hahaha!

Q: Which band would you love to made a cover version of?
8 We never realy do any covers but if we were going to i would want to do something very old. Maybe an old blues song from blind willy or something very popy from the 60s maybe.

Q: What are your plans for the future?
9 We are really trying to find a small indi lable to help us push our music. We do everything ourselves but never seem to break through and get a lot of plays or attention. So we are looking for something to help us get our sound out to more people.

Q: Any parting words?
10 Thank you for the love. We keep a lookout for our new music and keep supporting the underground.
