How To Dress Well with Life Model - An Interview

***** Interview with Life Model *****

Q: When did Life Model started, tell us about the history...
A: We started in 2012. We had the full band lineup for a good few months but needed a singer. When Sophie came to study in Glasgow we found our singer and it just went from there really. We had a lot of songs written before Sophie joined so we hit the ground running form the first rehearsal with her.

Q: Who are your influences?
A: Slowdive, Smashing Pumpkins, Blur, Cocteau Twins, The National, Warpaint, Yuck.

Q: Make a list of 5 albums of all time…
A: We have so many albums that we love. It's tough to pick 5 between us, so we'll pick one favorite each. You'll have to guess which member picked which album though!
The Sundays - Reading, Writing and Arithmetic
Yuck - Yuck
The National - Trouble Will Find Me
Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
Blur -13

Q: How do you feel playing live?
A: Playing live is a lot of fun for us, once we get over the nerves!

Q: How do you describe Life Model sounds?
A: Fuzzy, noisey dream pop

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs?
A: We've recorded in the studio in the past, but we've recorded our most recent songs at my house. Normally I'll demo a whole batch of songs and send them to Sophie to write the lyrics. Once we've tracked the instruments and vocals I'll spend a lot of time redoing certain parts and messing around with effects. I spend a lot of time mixing the songs too.

Q: Which new bands do you recommended
A: Tigercats, Yellow Creatures, Tuff Love, Lazy Day and The Van Ts

Q: Which bands would you love to make a cover version of?
A: We've done a few covers int he past. It would be cool to cover How To Dress Well, or maybe Mazzy Star in the future.

Q: What´s the plan for the future....
A: Our new single 'Lilt' is out on the 2nd of February. After that we're planning to play a good few shows in Glasgow and beyond (hopefully a few festivals too!)

Q: Any parting words?
A: I guess, check us out on soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/life-model
