***** Interview with The Noise Figures *****
A: We were friends being in other bands for many years but we started playing and jamming for fun 3 years ago and we immediately realized that this is working, the chemistry is good, so we took things more seriously than ever. We started to compose our first songs and within a year we had our first album released through Inner Ear Records. Then we hit the road!
Q: Who are your influences?
A: We grew up in the 90's, but we think that the best period in “rock n roll” history is 1965 -1975. So our influences vary from The Beatles, The Doors and Black Sabbath to Queens of The Stone Age, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Ty Segall.
Q. Make a list of 5 albums of all time…
A: We can choose one per decade
1968 The Beatles - White Album
1970 The Doors - Morrison Hotel
1980 The Clash - London Calling
1995 Soundgarden - Badmotorfinger
2002 QOTSA - Songs For The Deaf
Q. How do you feel playing live?
A: Free, adrenalized and alive!
Q. How do you describe The Noise Figures´sounds?
A: Fuzzy guitars, energetic drumbeats and trippy vocals.
Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs.
A: We usually jam or bring some ideas on rehearsals or even during sound checks, starting with a guitar riff or a drumbeat. Then we go back home to finish the composition, write the lyrics and make a home demo of the songs. Finally we record the song at the studio with a fully analog procedure.
Q. Which new bands do you recommend?
A: We have a great underground music scene in Athens Greece nowadays, so you should definitely check bands like The Cave Children, Chickn, My Drunken Haze, A Victim Of Society. There are also some favorite newcomers like Deaf Radio and Moan.
Q: Which band would you love to made a cover version of?
Maybe The Eagles Of Death Metal. It would be fun!
Q: What are your plans for the future?
A: We want to tour as much as we can in Greece and Europe to promote are our new album “Aphelion” and then gather our ideas and experiences from the road to make the next album.
Q: Any parting words?
A: Thank you for the interview and see you on the road! “Aphelion” is out there!
