Savor with Creation Myth - An Interview

***** Interview with Creation Myth *****

Q. When did Creation Myth started, tell us about the history...
RS: Creation Myth started at a dark time in our lives, out of desperation. 2012 was a dark year. It was originally RS on guitar and drum programming, JR on vox, and AN on guitar, but circumstances led to AN leaving and JJ coming in on bass. Things are brighter now.

Q: Who are your influences?
JR: Slowdive, Lesley Gore, Genesis P. Orridge, the tarot. RS: Les Rallizes Denudes, Drexciya, NEU!, Walter Benjamin. JJ: Bruce Springsteen, Funkadelic, Queen Anne style & Diet Dr. Pepper.

Q. Make a list of 5 albums of all time…
JR & RS: Loveless (obligatory), Streetcleaner by Godflesh, BCD2 by Basic Channel, Ambient 3 by Laraaji & Eno, Quique by Seefeel. JJ: The classix...Purple Rain, Sweetheart of the Rodeo, Rumours, Voodoo, Souvlaki.

Q. How do you feel playing live?
RS: Meditative. JR: Tender. JJ: Clammy.

Q. How do you describe Creation Myth sounds?
JR: Water moving through a cave, animal blood, amethyst. RS: Coming up, organic retrofuture.

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs ?
RS: We recorded our first tape, Always, on our own in our practice space and homes. We did everything ourselves (with the exception of some formatting of the artwork). We're currently in the process of recording a new batch of songs which will be released soon. We're once again doing everything ourselves. Keep an ear out for these in the very near future.

Q. Which new bands do you recommended?
JR: Opal Onyx, Winkie (who we just played with). RS: Exocomet is phenomenal. When we played with Winkie we also played with The Morelings and Intimachine who we also dig. JJ: listen to "Pilgrim II" by Pilgrim.

Q: Which band would you love to made a cover version of?
JR: We don't want to cover songs we like anymore, we'd like to leave them as is, and it's hard to cover songs you don't like.

Q: What´s the plans for future....
RS: Finishing up and releasing our new recordings, playing live everywhere.

Q: Any parting words?
JR: Thank you for listening. Thank you for everything. Thank you for existing.
