Pale Echo with Le A - An Interview

Simplesmente devastador.

***** Interview with Le A *****

Q. When did Le A started, tell us about the history...
Le A started in 2012. At first, we were just two, Blandine and me (Ita), and it was more pop than now. Then, Emeline joined us, and finally Michaël, at the drums, and now it's way more rock than it was at the beginning.

Q: Who are your influences?
We all have really different influences, but we agree on some, like Warpaint, My Bloody Valentine, psychedelic rock, Siouxsie and The Banshees, Portishead...

Q. Make a list of 5 albuns of all time…
It's very difficult to do that Emoticon grin, there are way more than 5 albums of all time (maybe 50), but here are some : Nirvana : In Utero/ Elliott Smith : Roman Candle / Sufjan Stevens : Carrie & Lowell / the Pixies : Doolittle / Björk : Homogenic

Q. How do you feel playing live?
We love playing live, we think it's on stage that our music really reveals itself. Even if we're not very at ease on stage for now, we love it, it's really great when you feel your audience is listening very carefully to what you're trying to express! Studio & stage are the best parts of being a musician !

Q. How do you describe Le A sounds?
We would say that we play rock, but with some pop & shoegaze in it ! We love to create some tension between soft and fragile melodies, and a heavy bass, distorted guitars. We like the idea of putting something very light on something very strong...

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs ?
The 3 girls are composing at home, then we work on the songs together, until they're satisfying for everyone. There's no leader, so we have to talk a lot, to finally agree ! When we enter the studio, we can almost say that we « destroy » every song, we change many things, until they sound exactly like we want them to. Benjamin, our sound engineer, has a big part in this process too. He gives us many advices, sometimes we agree, sometimes we don't, but in the end everyone is happy !

Q. Which new bands do you recommended?
- We have a collective of great bands called « Les Disques du Fennec », check it out here ! : http://www.lesdisquesdufennec.com/ They're all bands from Bordeaux, our town, and they are really good ! - A french band with who we played at Agen, not so long ago, called « Ropoporose » ! They're really great on stage.

Q: Which band would you love to made a cover version of?
We were talking about making a cover of Chokebore !

Q: What´s the plans for future....
We're currently composing for our first album ! We will probably record it in the end of 2015 or the beginning of 2016... And we would love to play more outside of France !

Q: Any parting words?
Thanks & see you soon in Sao Paulo
