In Rainbows with Neighbour - An Interview

O futuro aguarda o Neighbour.

***** Interview with Neighbour *****

Q. When did Neighbour started, tell us about the history...
Me (Martin) and Adam were in a band together and started writing some songs on the side, that band split up and we recorded a couple of songs, they got picked up on a couple of blogs / magazines and we started getting gig offers before we had a band, so in came Josh who we had both been in bands with for years and we couldn't find a girl bass player so we chose Chris as he had nice hair and a thin physique.

Q: Who are your influences?
The Dandy Warhols, Spiritualized, Mew, Pavement, My Bloody Valentine, The Cure, Blur, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Elliot Smith, Pixies, Nirvana, Ride, Sonic Youth, David Bowie, The Stone Roses, The Beatles, Ringo Deathstarr, Pink Floyd, Syd Barrett, BJM, Oasis, GOAT, Spacemen 3, TOY.

Q. Make a list of 5 albums of all time…
This is a tough one as none of us could find 5 albums we all agree on, but 5 albums we go always go back to when we can't find something to put on are....

Dandy Warhols - The Dandy Warhols, Come Down
Spiritualized - Ladies and Gentlemen, We are Floating in Space
David Bowie - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust
My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
Radiohead - In Rainbows

Q. How do you feel playing live?
Theres nothing better, playing live is what you are judged on, theres nothing worse than when you like a record and you go and see that band playing live and they cant pull it off, so for us thats the live shows are what we are all about.

Q. How do you describe Neighbour sounds?
British Pop

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs?
All our tunes are home recordings , we've slowly built up our own studio where one of us will put down and idea and we will work on it together and add our own parts.

We're not the most technically gifted with recording but we know what sound we want!

Q. Which new bands do you recommended
We've been listening the new records from Childhood. GOAT & JAWS

Q: Which bands would you love to make a cover version of?
Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody (but really badly played)

Q: What´s the plan for the future....
We're recording at the moment and looking to have a single release this year, so watch this space

Q: Any parting words?
Live long and prosper xxx
