Memory 27 with Violet Felina - An Interview

Marc Crane e Artemisa Crane formam o delirantemente viciante Violet Felina.

***** Interview with Violet Felina *****

Q. When did Violet Felina start? tell us about the history...
A. Mia and myself met online and decided to start working on tracks together. With myself being in London and Mia in Florida, we were constantly sending each other files and would complete the final tracks whenever she flew over. We heard our first ever song ‘secret middle of the pods eye’ when we met in person for the very first time. Since then, we have made an EP, been putting together new tracks and got married.

Q: Who are your influences?
A. The Brian Jonestown Massacre
The Cure
Joy Division
The Jesus and Mary Chain
The Beta Band

Q. Make a list of 5 albuns of all time…
A. 1. BJM - Methodrone
2. Ride - Nowhere
3. Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures
5. The Dandy Warhols - Dandys Rule Ok

Q. How do you feel playing live?
A. We are still working on that. Maybe when we are living in the same country.

Q. How do you describe Violet Felina sounds?
A. Hazy, fuzzy, dreamy and grimey soundscapes

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs?
A. It started off with Mia sending across vocals and I would then create the music at home and bring it all together. All of our music is recorded at my dads house, either in my old bedroom or the lounge. We seem to get the right kind of acoustics there. Some songs Mia will write and some of them we come up with together. We like expressing our current mood/feelings and recording can happen quite spontaneously for us. The recording equipment normally tags along with us on holiday. We actually recorded a couple of the tracks from our EP in the middle of a forest in a cabin.

Q. Which new bands do you recommended?
A. 1. Muertos
2. The New Candys
3. Flavor Crystals
4. Kill West
5. Rancho Relaxo
6. 93millionmilesfromthesun

Q: Which band would you love to made a cover version of?
The Blue Angel Lounge - The God

Q: What are your plans for the future?
A. To own a house and carry on making music together until we are old.

Q: Any parting words?
A big thank you to anyone who has took the time to listen to our music
