Danger! Danger! Danger! with We Deserve This - An Interview

Danger! Danger! Danger! último EP do WDT explicita exatamente estas palavras em três exercícios de transe mental.

Definitivamente a música do We Deserve This não é feita para dançar é feita para raciocinar.

***** Interview with We Deserve This *****

Q. When did WE DESERVE THIS start
I started WE DESERVE THIS back in 2010 als a little recording project with a good friend of mine. We both were inspired by Explosions In The Sky and Mogwai. Shortly after we recorded the first two song my friend left the project because he had not enough time due to a new job. So I thought it is good to continue on my own.

Q. Who are your influences?
My biggest influence is alternative rock and grunge from the early 90s. I was a kid at that time and I loved the energy of the music and the melancholic and frustrated touch of the so called generation x. Today I rarely listen to that kind of stuff but I cannot deny the influence. Today I am influenced by Nils Frahm, Cloudkicker, Hammock, HeklAa and Mogwai. I also love electronic music, classic and jazz. I think it is a shame if someone is listening just to post rock or just one specific genre. There is so much good music out there and I love to expand my horizon. This is the inspiration I need to produce music.

Q. Make a list of 5 albums of all time.
Failure - Fantastic Planet
Kiasmos - Kiasmos
Mogwai - Mr Beast
HeklAa - Pieces of you Vol.1 The Piano works
Max Richter - The Blue Notebooks

Q. How do you feel playing live
I cannot Tell because I have not played live yet. My first live gig is exactly in one week when I support the Alternative Rockers GRANT GLUE. I am pretty excited and I hope that everything goes well. But there are more live gigs in the near future.

Q. How do you describe WDT sounds.?
That is a difficult question because my goal is, to change the direction with every release. At first, WDT was a typical Post Rock band and continued to Post Metal. After that I changed to more ambient sounds and layed back music. My new EP Versions sounds more like a neo classical release. So you see, I want to create music and I am not a slave to a specific genre. It is interesting that the old fans also like the newer releases.

Q. Tell us about the process of recording the songs?
My normal dayjob is sound technician so it's not a problem to Record all this stuff on my own. I have a home Recording studio but for drum recordings I switch to a real studio space. I have always ideas in my head and the goal is to record these ideas as soon as possible. After that, a couple of days later, I try to figure out which idea is good and which one is total crap. Then it is time to combine ideas, change harmonies and add textures. It is no bin deal to write a song because most of the times the Song exists completely in my head.

Q. Which new bands to you renommiert?
There are so many great artists and bands out there that I really love. But my favorites at the moment are GRANT GLUE with their upcoming album EREMO, Clemens Christian Poetzsch and his album PEOPLE AND PLACES and HeKlAa, because they all are very inspiring.

Q: Which band would you love to made a cover version of?
No cover versions for me. I don t like cover versions. Sorry.

Q. What are your plan for the future?
I want to record a new album for Fluttery Records this year and I also would love to play live supporting bands that I like.

Q. Any parting words
Stay save wherever you are right now and spend Time with your loved ones. Lifetime is extremely limited so live for the moment. Also, check out Clemens Christian Poetzsch, HeklAa and GRANT GLUE. Just to expand your horizon.
That s it
Take Care
