Sour Times with Cavale Blanche - An Interview



Uma envolvente e sedutora fusão de shoegazer, trip hop a´la Portishead, com nuances psicodélicas é o que se ouve no genial ep de estreia do duo francês, Cavale Blanche.

Deer Funeral, lançado nos primeiros dias de janeiro deste ano, é como um longo e prazeroso trago do de um elixir viciante e altamente tóxico. A audição das 6 pérolas do ep é uma experiência intensa, passando por momentos sensuais, delirantes e que por fim tornam o ep completamente viciante.

Q. When did Cavale Blanche started, tell us about the history...
We started playing together one year and a half ago, but the project is born last year. We released our first EP last january, it's called Deer Funeral.

Q: Who are your influences?
We love the Horrors and the KVB but somehow people tell us our music makes them think about other older bands.

Q. Make a list of 5 albums of all time…
Mathis : Bloom - Beach House ; Secret blood - Shannon Wright ; Nevermind - Nirvana

Mathilde : Primary colours - The Horrors ; Doolittle - Pixies ;

Q. How do you feel playing live?
We feel ashamed of ourselves

Q. How do you describe Cavale Blanche sounds?
We don't know how to describe what we do it is hard. You tell us !


Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs ?
It depends. Sometimes we're at home recording some things and then trying to play them live, sometimes we compose in live with our additionnal musician Pierre, ...

Q. Which new bands do you recommended?
Grand Blanc, Colombey, many bands from the Nothing collective.

Q: Which band would you love to made a cover version of?
Mathilde : Old french songs like Françoise Hardy
