Schizophrenia with Buzzmutt - An Interview

Sonic Youth, Flaming Lips, Talking Head, Pixies, Wire mestres da cacofonia sonora servem de inspiração pros malucos de São Francisco do Buzzmutt.

Eu digo o seguinte, quer ouvir algo pra chacoalhar tua cabeça, ferver a biela?

***** Interview with Buzzmutt *****

Q. When did Buzzmutt started, tell us about the history..
The band started around the beginning of 2011. Jesse olswang , Eric Alonzo and Scott Franklin played in a band together before Buzzmutt. That band fell apart, and we kept playing together Bringing Chas Anthony in soon after. About a year and a half later Jayson Adams joined us. Recently Vinnie Tremblay has joined us.

Q: Who are your influences?
There are so many, all of us have a wide variety of taste. When we first started I would say The Flaming Lips, Sonic Youth, Deer Hoof, Radiohead, tool, califone, Lighting Bolt. Velvet underground. The list is kinda endless.

Q. Make a list of 5 albuns of all time…
Ok, these are mine. (Scott's) It's pretty indie rock. I can put any of these on and feel great!
1.Califone - Roots and crowns
2.The Flaming lips- embryonic
3.Built to Spill -Perfect from now on
4.Pixies - trompe le monde
5.Sonic Youth - the entire Jim O Rourke era

Q. How do you feel playing live?
A lot of different ways, but the best is when you get into this space. It's like an out of body experience. Kinda tapping into the cosmos kinda thing. That's why I play. That's where your trying to get to,and if you do it right you can bring a couple people along with you. Sound fracturing time and space, Haha!

Q. How do you describe Buzzmutt sounds?
Like a shorting out speaker ran through a delay pedal, controlled by an LSD dosed orangutan. With a marching band you can hear a block away.

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs ?
We write and record all kinds of different ways. It depend on the songs. But we record everything we do. So we will all jam together record it, and take the best of that and turn it a song. Sometimes songs will come fromsamples or someone will bring a riff or two in.

Q. Which new bands do you recommended?
This last month I have seen 2 Annie girl and the flight shows. I would say you should check them out. It was the first time I had seen them so it was new to me. And think there pretty new in general. good stuff!

Q: Which band would you love to made a cover version of?
I think of the particle skills in Buzzmutt and the individual styles of the playersin the band .I think we would do some Talking Heads really good. I could see that.

Q: What´s the plans for future....
Hopefully more extensive touring. We have a lot of new songs we will be recording soon. So we need to get that done. Some more videos on the way.

Q: Any parting words?
Use the force
