The Devil May Care with The Blondi´s Salvation - An Interivew

***** Interview with The Blondi´s Salvation *****

Q. When did Blondi’s Salvation start? Tell us more about the story...
Manuel, Julien and Etienne started the band together in 2011. At the time, we were playing 60's stuff in an old warehouse on the docks of Nantes, our city.

When the last drummer ''had'' to leave, Morgane joined us. She never played drum before but she really figured out what was the purpose of the band, so that was pretty easy for her to learn how to play drums, she was practicing for only six months when we played at the Levitation Festival.

In September, Mathieu joined us to play percussions and keyboard, we felt that 4 people were not enough to tell what we wanted to. And we were glad to integrate his musical knowledge to the band. This new line up seems to be the best we never had.

Since the early beginning of the band, we really try to keep the control of every artistic aspects of what we do. Every aspect of the creation (recording, mixing, artwork, reflexion about the future) is important for us.

In this way, we recorded our first LP “Songs of the new world order '' in 2012 in a garage with the help of a friend, Antoine from Acouphonic Amps, who is now part of our little community. A few months later, we started to record a 4 tracks EP called '' to our future '' in our music room (we started to record it before the Lp was out, because we were not fully satisfied with this last one.) In January 2013, we started to record (for the first time in a studio) '' Crusades '', written within a few months, with no drummer (Julien plays drums in that record) and only 2 days to record ten songs. That was the beginning of something new for us: a new sound, a brighter direction and so many new possibilities to explore.

Times are changing for music, and we want to keep it pure, sincere and noble.

Q: Who are your influences?
By living together it's very easy to share things with each others and to make discoveries.

We are mainly influenced by 60's bands: we like the creativity, the sincerity, and the idea of destroying the established concepts that were dominated at the time, before things went crazy for music. Some actual bands manage to keep the original energy of the early years of rock music, but despite this, the majority are just rehashing the same things, deeply influenced by the music industry and the culture of stupidity that stands today.

We are more and more influenced by ancient and medieval music. A long time ago, before the advent of pop culture, things were different in term of music; people were playing music for different reasons and in a different way. It might have been in a better way than today or maybe a worst one, we can't really know what we have lost, but we must not forget what has been done before. We are European and all the things built and invented around us were here before, belonging to another kind of music, so it is for us a direct influence that we must follow. We are directly influenced by all kind of noble music that we can ear. For example, many kind of traditional music sounds like that: Indian music, Asian music, Arabian music, African music… all of those music are created profoundly in a different way, we want to explore that and understand from where comes these melodies and the rhythms we like.

Q. Made a list of 5 albums of all time…
Each of us chose an important album :

Julien : Brian jonestown massacre : Give it back Manuel :The sonics : Here are the sonics

Etienne Nick drake pink moon Morgane Janis Joplin : pearl

Mathieu Velvet underground : VU

Q. How do you feel playing in live?
We are torn between the selfish pleasure of playing music with a large part of improvisation and the duty that we have to play a music that that we think is pure to people who are listening. That's why we try to play with new materials as much as possible, so that our music always still sounds fresh for us but also to transmit strong feelings to people.

We know that it is difficult to keep a constant energy in a band when playing a lot of gigs, but we try to keep it as harder as we can. We love to play live. Q. How could you describe Blondi´s Salvation sound?

There are two essential reasons to make music. First of all, you can play religious music for celebration of gods, or you can play entertainment music. In any kind of culture, music is born in a ritual, a kind of combination of those two aspects. This is what we are trying to reproduce, through the mediums we have nowadays. We use the ''Rock'' sound wich belong to our culture and has already proven how interesting and polyvalent it could be. This is a kind of basis for our compositions.

Artistically, our actual sound is based on strong ornamented melodies supported by organic rhythmic and sounds. We try to include traditional instruments too (especially in the third LP that we are actually writing) mixed with modern occidental sounds.

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs?
Julien is creating a studio, so this will be a good opportunity for us to keep control on the production. We also have the help of acouphonic amps who is building audio devices for the studio ( as Tubes preamps and comps )

Once we get the studio, we'll really be able to deeply work on our records and we'll have more time for experimentations. We are thinking about new methods to record live songs for our 3 rd LP, trying to find ways to make it as unique as possible. In that way, we'll try to find a special place to record our next album, we are looking for an historical place with a good acoustic. A castle or a church would be wonderful for that record.

Q. Which new bands do you recommend?
We really love the sound of the Blue angel lounge and we are waiting for their new LP ! We strongly recommend to see Tonstartssbandht live, those brothers are amazing !

J.C satan and Sudden death of stars are two of the best french bands we know, people who don't know them yet have to listen to them!

Q: Which bands you would love to make a cover version?
Gustav holst : the planets

Q: What´s your plans for the future....
We are actually working on a Third Lp, which we want to release ideally before the end of the year. We are looking for a label that can produce us and help us for production and tour organisation at the same time.

In a more artistic way, we don't know what we'll do in the next future. We only know that it will be different.

Q: Any parting words?
Internet is changing the music and the world in general. People have to react and find new ways to support the music they like and they must not forget that music is not just a single mouse click among millions but a way to guide the future.

D.evolution with Dahga Bloom - An Interview

***** Interview with Dahga Bloom *****

Q. When did Dahga Bloom starts, tell us about the history...
Dahga started with a dream about 4 years ago when the band was called Living Suns, wherein 3-5 of us were all confronted by the African god Dahga, who spoke to us, and told us to take his name. Members have changed over the years, but this is who we are now, and who we hope to remain.

Q: Who are your influences?
Dahga, kids, dogs, musicians, books, booze, furniture, poets, tools, cycles,

Q. Made a list of 5 albuns of all time…
1. Queens of the Stone Age-Songs for the Deaf
2. John Coltrane-A Love Supreme
3. Can-Tago Mago
4. V/A-Tanz Mit Dem Herzen
5. Devo-Question: Are We Not Men? Answer: We Are Devo!

Q. How do you fell playing alive?
Very sweaty. Aware of each other. Very Loud. In tune, in time. Soaring. Marching. Blown out.

Q. How do you describe Dahga Bloom sounds?
Fuzz, scuzz, shriek, shrill, diminished, distorted, loud, proud, driving, climbing.

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs ?
We usually work on a song for a while until we get a structure, then we record a quick demo of it and let it sit and soak in with us. Vocals are added. Then we re-record, more professionally, in our studio. Sometimes we track individually, sometimes in pairs, sometimes live as a full unit. Whatever works and is appropriate for the sonic mood, we try to apply to each song.

Q. Which new bands do you recommended?
Elms, half goon, church of sun, FART BARF

Q: Which bands you love to made a cover version?
Devo, rheingold, the damned/

Q: What´s the plans for future....
Releasing "No Curtains" for captcha records, working on a new 10" record, playing Austin Psych Fest, and Psycho de Mayo, and continuing to write new songs.

Q: Any parting words?
Music should be fun, not a task, job or chore. If it ceases being fun, it ceases being necessary.

Creation with Flaamingos - An Interview

Segura a trip!!!

***** Interview with Flaamingos *****

Q. When did Flaamingos starts, tell us about the history...
Jerry: Started in 2011. Daniel and I had played together before. From our BIO: The band was formed by Jerry Narrows (vocals, drum programming) and Daniel Koontz (guitar, bass, synth) — the two played together in psych and shoegaze bands as youngsters, before going their separate ways and working in other musical projects for a time. They bumped into one another at an Echo Park party spot in 2011, and decided to collaborate again — this time, however, their work involved crafting a new sound that would include traces of their past psych/shoegaze inclinations, but also drew on newer-found love for krautrock, post-punk, synth pop and new romantic shimmer. As Narrows told LA's TPR Mag last year, "We have both post-punk and psychedelic sensibilities. I’d say we’re heavily influenced by the poppier side of both 'genres.' Of course we have our influences but in the end we’re not really going for such a specific target with our sound — we're trying to create something greater than the sum of its parts."

Q: Who are your influences?
Jerry: There are thousands of influences but I'd say the most notable would be Factory Records bands like The Wake, Joy Division/New Order. I'm a big David Bowie fan. Early Depeche Mode. The Jesus and Marychain, Slowdive, The Smiths. Kraftwerk. The Velvet Underground. Siouxsie and the Banshees, Iggy Pop/Stooges. Spacemen 3. Tears for Fears (The Hurting), Echo and The Bunneymen.. many more..

Daniel: There's so many musical directions I'd like to explore, but time is limited, so...I've always had an interest in synths, but up until now never had the money to be able to act on it, until now. That's why I originally invested in a barely working $50 Akai s1000 sampler for the 1st record. Now that we can afford synths, we've been working on more synth-heavy productions, and the Kraftwerk, Georgio Moroder, Cluster, and early 80's Darkwave influences are becoming more prominent.

Q. Made a list of 5 albuns of all time…
Jerry: The Wake- Here comes everybody, The Smiths- Queen is Dead, Iggy Pop- The Idiot, Slowdive- Souvlaki Space Station, Velvet Underground- any album (esp. White Light/White Heat), Depeche Mode- Black Celebration Joy Division- Unknown Pleasures, Elvis-Sun Sessions. Is that 5??

Daniel: There's albums I always keep coming back to: Spiritualized' Lazer Guided Melodies, Aphex Twin's Ambient II, Brian Eno's 70's solo albums. Georgio Moroder's 70's productions, My Bloody Valentine's EPs from 1987-91, Daydream Nation

Q. How do you fell playing alive?
Jerry: Playing live? For me it's a release and a celebration. A chance to connect with people on the same level who want to release and escape with us.

Daniel: I love playing live, you see instantly what works and what doesn't, when working on new material. I'd say that Jerrold and I are so cerebral in our writing process that playing live forces us to be more "in the moment".

Q. How do you describe Flaamingos´ sounds?
Jerry: We process all our influences and use technology to arrive at a point that is loaded with rhythm, melody and texture.

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs ?
Jerry: We don't have a set process, really. We don't use a lot of live drums so we're able to record just about all of the instruments directly and therefore don't need a big studio space because we don't need to be loud. So we do a lot of recording in our homes and pass a lot of files back and forth to each other for evaluation and editing, etc. Then we hope to rehearse them some, then record them.

Daniel: For me, the 1st album was about combing ambient music with pop sensibilities. Combing dissonance with pop structures. Its still early in the writing process, but the 2nd album seems to be moving into more of a rhythmic dance-oriented direction, but still retaining the more dissonant and non-pop influences.

The 1st album was total controlled chaos, learning how to be a band, learning how to use our equipment and doing what we had to do to finish the next track and make it sound as good as possible. We had a good sense of direction, but our lives outside of the band were in such a state of flux that it made it so that it wasn't really possible to have a set process. In hindsight, I think that was more of a good thing than bad.

Q. Which new bands do you recommended?
Jerry: Girls Names, Sam Flax, Silent Servant

Daniel: I'm really loving what's been coming out of the Italians Do It Better label. Johnny Jewel's production-sense is impeccable. Silent Servant, Hibou, Mac Demarco

Q: Which bands you love to made a cover version?
Daniel: We've been talking about doing a cover lately. I like cover songs when they don't sound like the original at all. For me, I'd like to look at songs where the arrangement is different enough from our style to where we could make cover that's as different from the original version as possible. Otherwise, I don't see the point. Speaking of covers, check out Anika's S/T on Stone's Throw, it's one of the best records I've heard in the past 10 years! Geoff Barrow is a genius when it comes to production.

Q: What´s the plans for future....
Jerry: Writing and recording another album. We would like to tour: U.S., Mexico and Europe.

Daniel: Right now our main focus is on making a great 2nd album. Trying to expand the style but at the same time still incorporate things we liked about the 1st album, so it feels like a progression.

Q: Any parting words?
Jerry: I am so happy people in Brazil have responded to our music. We hope to some day come and play there!

Real Cool Time with Dizzy Stilettos

***** Interview with Dizzy Stilettos *****

Q. When did Dizzy Stilettos starts, tell us about the history...
A brief history of Dizzy Stilettos is that it's a one man project started in 2008 by Matt McClanahan while living in Echo Park Ca. The album Turbo Satanic was written and recorded in his bedroom.

Q: Who are your influences?
Some influences are Roger Miller, Lansing-Dreiden, and Eagles Of Death Metal.

Q. Made a list of 5 albuns of all time…
The albums off the top of my head are
The soundtrack to Mary Poppins,
The Stranger by Billy Joel,
Fun House by The Stooges,
In Utero by Nirvana,
and Lullabies To Paralyze by Queens Of The Stone Age

Q. How do you fell playing alive?
When I play live I feel good and sexy and have a bueno time

Q. How do you describe Dizzy Stilettos sounds?
I would describe Dizzy Stilettos sound as being Death Molasses Country Stomp

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs ?
The process of recording songs usually is coming up with a couple guitar riffs that sound good to me, then i'll usually try and find a melody I think is good enough followed by adding drums and anything else the song says it needs.

Q. Which new bands do you recommended?
Some bands or music I would recommend would be Mac Demarco. I really like his music. I've been listening to Kurt Vile's latest album recently again as well. Also, I hear a rumor that there is a group called Jay And Bambi that is coming out with their first album this year sometime. I may or may not be a part of that group but who's cares....I like the music

Q: Which bands you love to made a cover version?
I actually have covered a few artists in the past. Depeche Mode and Roger Miller to name a couple.

Q: What´s the plans for future....
The future for Dizzy Stilettos is another album in the works and plan on recording it this summer with a release later this year.

Q: Any parting words?
Be good to each other, god bless and Thank You Renato and The Blog That Celebrates Itself!

Ladies And Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space....Again with The Wise Dude´s Revolver - An Interview

Peace, love and psych

***** Interview with The Wise Dudes´s Revolver *****

Q. When did The Wise Dudes starts, tell us about the history...
Most of the guys have known each other for a very long time (from high school, neighborhood and so one...). Cyril (guitar/voice), Jérémy (guitar) and Clément (bass) were used to jam together, but at some point they wanted to get involved more seriously in a band. The band was borned really in the summer of 2012 with the arrival of Nicolas (drums). From that point we started to write songs and play in small bars and venues.

We recorded our first EP during the summer of 2013 and released it in september 2013. After that we had the chance to play bigger shows in our region or as support for bigger bands we love. We must say the end of 2013/beginning of 2014 has been very fruitful for us :)

Q: Who are your influences?
As every musician, we have a lot of different influences, because each of us listen and love a broad range of music styles and bands.

In our music, though, the most notable influences would be The Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Black Angels, Spiritualized, the Velvet Underground, and maybe Pink Floyd.

Q. Made a list of 5 albuns of all time…
Very difficult question :-) Each of us picked one !
(ordered by date)

John Coltrane - My Favorite Things
The Velvet Underground - The VU and Nico
Pink Floyd - Meddle
Spiritualized -

Ladies And Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space
Dead Skeletons - Dead Magick

Q. How do you fell playing alive?
Playing a live performance is amoung the best sensation you can feel. This is the real time the songs and your music are not only about you and your buddies but the rest of the world. Most of all, every show is very different from the others, and nothing is never going exactly the way you have planned !
In bigger venues, it is also the occasion to smash the drums/the guitars as hard as you want without driving the neighbors mad.

Q. How do you describe The Wise Dudes sounds?
Coming directly from the guts and the heart, with reverb, rather slow, usually with long crescendos and hypnotic patterns.

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs ?
We recorded our first EP basically by ourself. We had the chance to borrow good quality microphones from a friend. Théo Cloux, our former keyboard player, recorded during three days, non stop, in the empty house of the late Cyril's grandma, wich is located nearby a nuclear power plant. This was a pretty intense week-end.

We were afterwards also able to record some tracks of timpani and gong because Nicolas, the drummer, was a member of the University's symphonic orchestra.
Finally, the mixing and the mastering was done by Philippe André, a friend of us and independent engineer in his home-studio.

Q. Which new bands do you recommended?
Well, the psychedelic scene is so active that a lot of awesome bands are emerging each month.
Among many others, we would recommend Juleah (a solo Austrian artist), and White Glow (fellow French psychgazers).

Q: Which bands you love to made a cover version?
We don't usually do covers of other bands. However we did cover "White Light/WHite heat" and "What Goes On" By the Velvet Underground during a special event. We like to play these songs from time to time for encores or acoustic shows.

Q: What´s the plans for future....
Many plans! We are going to release a video for our song Sailing Away, the 9th of March. After that, we are also going to tour south of France in the end of Avril/beginning of may.

Meanwhile, we are also writing new songs, rehearsing, creating new artworks and so one...

Q: Any parting words?
Enjoy ! Ruir !

Reverence with The Janitors - An Interview

Simplesmente discípulos da obra prima chamada Psychocandy, os caras soltaram ano passado o espetacular e necessário Drone Head, algo como Taking Drugs To Make Music To Taking Drugs To da nova geracão.

***** Interview with The Janitors *****

Q. When did The Janitors form? tell us your story….
The first incarnation of The Janitors saw the light of day back in 2004. Driven by the absence of noise in the stockholm scene, three Janitors with a mutual love for JAMC decided to start a band. for about a year and a half we delivered chaotic gigs and an EP before we split up. In 2009 a new incarnation of The Janitors surfaced and released “First Sign of delirium”. The current lineup, the third incarnation of The Janitors have been together for about one year and consist of Jonas; vocals and guitar, Henric - guitar and drone, Martin - bass, Jon - drums and Anders - percussion and organ.

Q: What are your influences?
Long cold harsh winters, Innis & Gunn, noisescapes, sleep deprivation, strobelights, strange sounds, cheap beer, pedals and the feeling of playing one chord a really, really long time,

Q. Your 5 albums of all time…
The only almost all of us could decide on is

Jesus And Mary chain - Psychocandy

So here’s a list of the Janitors top 26 albums chosen by all the members (not in any particular order):
The Velvet Underground - The Velvet Underground
Misfits- Walk among us
The Doors- L.A Woman
M.I.A- Arular
Elvis Costello- My aim is true
Talking heads- 77
Soundgarden - Superunknown
Neil Young - Everybody knows this is nowhere
Bob Dylan - Highway 61 revisited
The Rolling Stones - Beggars banquet
Led Zeppelin - IV
The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses
The Kinks - The Village Green Preservation Society
Love - Forever Changes
The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
The Clash - London Calling
Nick Cave and the bad seeds - Let love in
The Velvet Underground - Loaded
The Beatles - Abbey Road
Tom Waits - Rain dogs
Loop - Fade out
Depeche Mode - Black Celebration
Spiritualized - Ladies and gentlemen we are floating in space
Sonic Youth - Sister
bob hund - bob hund
Spacemen 3 - Perfect prescription

Q. How do you feel playing live?
Nervous and really really intense. We try to stay on our toes… The current formation of The Janitors are now a lubed up trippy sonic fuckin massacre on stage. We really enjoy playing live. We are accompanied by visual magician Daniel Wiklund aka Hypnorama, who specially design our live visuals.

Q. How do you describe The Janitors' sounds?
Aquarius records tried to define us as fantastically druggy and tranced out, psychedelic spaced out heavy garage psych. That’s a long line of words but they kind of describes us pretty well.

We have a lot of different labels and witty descriptions : Evil Shoegaze boogie woogie and/or stökpsych. Swedish Lysergic fuzz wizardry, If Nick Cave decided to start a shoegaze band, I think it might sound a little like The Janitors ‘Death Song’”. it’s pretty dark basically.

Q: Tell us about the recording process....
We have our own setup in our studio in an old bomb shelter in the outskirts of Stockholm.

With the previous records Jonas and Henric would record every instrument by itself, now we have been able to buy a good mixer, sound card and microphones to be able to do more proper live recordings. In the new recordings we try to minimize the overdubs to more resemble our live sound. The equipment most re-occurring in the recording process would be the EHX freeze pedal + Boss DM-2 delay and an old Harmaphone fan organ that produce most of the drones, we used to have a crappy brazilian guitar called sonic that we use for fuzz parts. In the digital arena we are very fond of a couple of plug-ins we have, especially anything that has a punish button in there has The Janitors written all over it.

We are currently recording songs for the forthcoming albums coming this fall. We do all of the recording and producing and mixing ourselves.

Q. Which new bands do you recommend?
Not new but one of our favorite swedish bands: Audionom. They're a krautrock gone progressive swedish collective that coined the phrase The Sound of Wall. Amazing band.

Technicolor Poets, Hills, Then comes Silence, His Name is Codeine and many others. We devour everything from Cardinal Fuzz. Dave over there seems to have impeccable taste. And of course the other band that members are playing in: Black Belt, Nya Zeeland and Svart Katt.

Q: Which band and song would you like to cover?
We have done covers of Elvis, The Modern Lovers and the Mary Chain. Right now we haven’t got any lined up. What would you suggest?

Q: What are the plans for the future….
We will follow up Drone Head with a 12” EP on the Danish label Bad Afro Records and a full length album will be released by the mighty Cardinal Fuzz by the end of the year. So a lot of time will be spent in the studio going forward.

In between this we will probably release a lot of weird shit on our own digital Label - Your Ears Have Been Bad And Need To Be Punished Records. The label will also release the debut with STRSSMMNT and above mentioned Technicolor Poets along with distributing our friends over at PNKSLM Recordings (Black Mekon, Les Big Byrd, Sudakistan)

We will play the Copenhagen Psych Fest and Liverpool international festival of psychedelica and probably some hometown gigs.

Q: Any parting words?
Right now Europe is experiencing a wave of political forces attempting to normalize fear, oppression and exclusion of people of other cultures, skin tone, sexual preference and in many cases gender than their own. 2014 is election year in Sweden and we will take any opportunity we can to take a stand against the racist party in our own parliament.

This band believes in equal rights for everyone. If you are eligible to vote, please do so in favor of fairness and tolerance.

We borrowed this text from fellow Swedes The Shout Out Louds.

For Your Pleasure with Naam - An Interview

Hell yeah!!

***** Interview with Naam *****

Q. When did Naam starts, tell us about the history... John Bundy and I started the band together after many long discussions about music that doesnt exist yet and where we wanted to take it. We wanted to blend many different kinds of psychedelia, indie and metal that we didnt see anyone else doing. Naam has always been about progression and furthering art. After writing a few songs we found Eli who had just moved to New York from Boston and things got really heavy as he was coming from a hardcore band. Later we added John W. on the keyboards. I really dont think our band was truly formed until we added John as a permanent member for Vow and so here we are. Four brothers doing the things brothers do. We share in all the ups and downs and Ive never met more dynamic and interesting people in my life.

Q: Who are your influences?
My influences are great modern thinkers such as Kant, Picasso, Nietzsche, etc. People who really made things very introspective. This is something you can find alot in our music.

Q. Made a list of 5 albuns of all time…
-Beatles "Revolver"
-Roxy Music "For your Pleasure"
-Velvet Underground "Peel Slowly and See"
-Beach Boys "Surfs Up"
-Nirvana "Nevermind"

Q. How do you fell playing alive?
Playing live is one, if not the most, sacred and special thing I do. Our live show is everything and we put everything into it. Onstage I feel many different emotions ranging from hatred to fear to love. I just turn off and let whatever I'm feeling flow through me into the music and performance. This makes every show different from the last.

Q. How do you describe Naam sounds?
We dont sound like anyone or anything else. Its hard to pin down as our "sound" changes on each recording. You can expect our next record to be very unlike the first few.

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs ?
We have a great producer, Jeff Berner from Psychic TV. I dont think we could do anything without him. He really is the fifth member of the band. We take a very long time to record and hash over every little sound and phrase always experimenting along the way. Safe to say this pisses off alot of record labels but I do not cut corners with my art. It is the most important thing in life and I feel bad for people without an outlet to fully express themselves.

Q. Which new bands do you recommended?
I really love all the Sacred Bones bands. Dead Skeletons are the best live band right now in my opinion. I am also really into Moon Duo, Follakzoid, Deerhunter, Tame Impala etc.

Q: What´s the plans for future....
We will be releasing our third full length album this winter and you can expect ALOT of touring around it. We also have a live record and a split 12" coming out in the summer. Its a very busy time for us.

Q: Any parting words?
Be cool and but more Naam records.

To Here Knows When with Moonsters - An Interview

***** Interview with Moonsters *****

Q. When did Moonsters starts, tell us about the history...
Actually it was all quite accidental. Cobra and I have a personal multimedia project and played together, Lucho invited us to jam one day and it was instant chemistry. Later on August, 2013 Koopa joined on the drums and Moonsters began. We never had the intention of creating Moonsters, it kinda happened naturally.

Q: Who are your influences?
We have really eclectic tastes and influences, we´re really different from one another, something I think it´s one of the coolest parts of being a part of Moonsters. We don´t try to follow a musical path or don´t try to sound as part of a genre or a scene, or to imitate other artists. Kill your idols, you know... We find inspiration in varied sources, of course in music (we enjoy a lot of different bands from multiple eras and genres, from underground noise, to shoegaze atmospheres, deathrock darkness and no wave beats) also poetry and literature, pop culture, a lot of films (we all have audiovisual background) our own life experiences and of course being born in the 80s and growing up on the 90s forged us, with all that it means.

Q. Made a list of 5 albuns of all time…
Well...this is always a tricky question, specially since we are 4 people and the list is ever expanding. 5 seems like a really tight number, but I´ll try at least to say the first 5 that come to my mind ATM...

All of them in vynil format if possible and in no particular order.

The Velvet Underground & Nico.
Unkown Pleasures by Joy Division
Loveless by My Bloody Valentine
Daydream Nation by Sonic Youth
Anything by Siouxsie and the Banshees

Q. How do you fell playing alive?
We haven´t had any gig yet. We are planning going on tour this year. We love to play, though, the energy flow we get is unbelievable. We always end up extatic and music high. Best drug ever, really.

Q. How do you describe Moonsters sounds?
Since I am a girl in front of 3 males, I think the dychotomy female/masculine is quite evident. My vocals aren´t polished or perfect, just visceral as the lyrics. From the guts and the heart. We describe our sound as atmospheric and skizophrenic at the same time. We use several effects on the guitar which sounds jagged and fuzzy to suddenly turn ethereal and dreamy. Bass lines are rythmical. Drums are solid, and vary between drone and dynamic beats. We´d like to make you feel something. We don´t want to be background music.

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs ?
We recorded our singles at Retrotrak, the studio of our friend Marcos. We decided we wanted to record a live take and then we recorded some vocals. It was a blast! I loved the process, the adrenaline level was high and it was intense. Then the songs were mastered by Marcos, who is awesome to work with. He really got our style and the kind of sound we wanted to give to the songs.

Q. Which new bands do you recommended?
We are constantly digging for new sounds, and I think that after many years without a lot of new bands which tickled my fancy there is a wave of great ones arising. We love Savages, an amazing powerful band, finally playing post-punk the way I like it.

We also dig the shoegaze and psy comeback, great stuff´s going on.

Q: Which bands you love to made a cover version?
We are not much into covers, we prefer versions of songs in which artist imprint their own feel instead of copying the sound of others. We are working on a version of a Joy Division song at the moment. I´d also like to version a Slowdive song.

Q: What´s the plans for future...
To be the first band ever to play on the moon. No, really... We´d love to go on a worldwide tour and of course to release an album or two.

Q: Any parting words?
Take care of the sense, and the sounds will take care of themselves.
