Love is Lie by Black Lizard - An Interview


Particularmente o TBTCI aguardava ansiosamente a oportunidade de contactar o Black Lizard, porque a história de adoracão iniciou na compilacão Reverb Conspirancy que saiu ano passado pela melhor gravadora da atualidade a Fuzz Club Records, dentre maravilhas contidas no album, uma deles chamou de cara minha atencão, o Black Lizard, e daí mais um EP pela Fuzz também seduziu o TBTCI a ponto de audicões ininterruptas e o inicio do fanatismo comecou, e agora depois de meses passados o TBTCI e  Fuz Club estreitaram o relacionamento e isso facilitou o acesso ao homônimo album que saíra dia 05 de abril próximo, e o album é guitarras, citaras, mellotrons, sintetizadores, causando uma grandiosa obra de psicodelia digna de fazer corar os mestres Anton Newcombe e Peter Kember, e não a toa o album foi masterizado pelo próprio mestre Sonic Boom, daí meus amigos eu simplesmente aconselho, virem-se, comprem o disco, não importa o debute do Black Lizard tem que estar presente em sua casa.

Q. When did Black Lizard starts, tell us about the history...
First recordings were made at the end of 2008 as duo project with the name Black Lizard and the Liquid Plastic Castles, but the current line-up and shortened name came in early 2012.

We have made two EPs which other was published by Fuzz Club Records and our debut full-lenght album will be out soon by Soliti label.

Q: Who are your influences?
The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Spacemen 3, the Stooges, Jesus and Mary Chain, Spectrum, Elevators, Velvets and lots of others.

Q. How do you feel playing live?
It will give you the best kicks what could be, or make you feel like shit.

Q. How do you describe Black Lizard sounds?
Psych, hypnotic, raw, fuzz, proto-punk, noise, primitive…

Q: Tell us about the process of recording debut album?
Recording was started in fall of 2012. Half of the album was done in Helsinki, and the other half in Berlin with Anton Newcombe. The studio was great, we were able to use a lots of different gear like sitar, mellotron, vintage analog synths and stuff. Our singer Paltsa mixed the album and it is mastered by Sonic Boom at New Atlantis studio.


Q. Which new bands do you recommended?
Our label mates Black Twig are cool. Dead Rabbits and Lucid Dream from UK and The Wands from Denmark.

Q: Which bands you love to made a cover version?
We have played Stooges, Elevators and Golden Dawn at some gigs.

There's a lot of great songs we would like to play. Classic songs from 50s to 90s.

Q: What´s the plans for future....
Play a lot of gigs and do some kind of second release for this year.

We also try to develop our sound and image of music.
