14 & Makarios with Tropique Noir - An Interview

***** Interview with Tropique Noir *****

Q. When did Tropique Noir start? Tell us about the history...
The project has existed for three years, the name Tropique Noir and the idea to unveil the sounds has taken shape only recently. This project was to remain secret. The story of the project is not just about me, it has evolved with the life I have been leading since.

Q: Who are your influences?
I take inspiration from the coldness of things, everything that touches sadness, lived moments, disappointments, fantasies impossible.

Q. Make a list of 5 albums of all time…

Beach House - Teen Dream
Beach House Bloom
The KVB - Out Of Body
Hibou - Hibou
Philipp Glass - Glassworks

Q. How do you feel playing live?
For the moment, the project has not yet seen the color of the scene, a certain anxiety, but time will do the work.

Q. How do you describe Tropique Noir sounds?
Difficult to answer, it is an open-hearted project or only the questioning of the listener of importance.

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs ?
Everything is done from my home, a computer and my equipment, work done at night accompanied by a bottle of wine and cigarettes. The voices are improvised, depending on the inspiration, nothing is written .. Then I work the mix with a super sound engineer friend (Clément Champigny)

Q. Which new bands do you recommend?
Bands of friends, "Carrière Solo" the project of one of the guys who will play with me and "Djokovic"

Q: Which band would you love to made a cover version of?
Beach House, without hesitation.

Q: What are your plans for the future?
I'm not the guy to make plans, but I'd like to make live, and the project is discovered everywhere.

Q: Any parting words?
For the moment, as I said earlier, no date is foreseen. But for the future certainly.
