Directions to See a Ghost with Haunted Leather - An Interview

Psicodelia pesada, cinzenta, nada de flower power, aqui o buraco literalmente é mais embaixo, Red Road é o penúltimo album do Haunted Leather o último é In Her Golden Room, combo de Michigan, que simplesmente pega na veia mesmo, da mesma linhagem de Warlocks, Black Angels e similares, o negócio dos caras é riffs barulhentos hipnóticos e vocais evocando o monstro sagrado Roky Eriksson.

Os caras prometem coisa nova pra esse ano, mas se você desconhece o Haunted Leather e o viciante Red Road, sugiro que tome vergonha imediatamente e não comete mais essa falha.

Q. When did haunted Leather starts, tell us about the history…
We started in late 2010 as a three piece. We’ve added all of our friends since. We only had three other fiends, so we ended up a six-piece.

Q: Who are your influences?
Jack: Reed, Cale, and valium, Syd, Denudes
Dusty: The blues.
Shane: Beck.
Ross: Shakey, Terence Malick, Sonic Boom, Harmonia
Sean: Swans, Wooden Wand, Low, Whiskey.
Adam: Brian, Mick, Charlie, Keef

Q. Made a list of 5 albuns of all time…
1. The Cure – Pornography
2. Neil Young – On The Beach
3. Angels of Light – New Mother
4. Jesus and Mary Chain – Darklands
5. Constantines – Tournament of Hearts
6. Pink Floyd – Piper at the Gates of Dawn

We did six, because there are six of us.

Q. How do you fell playing alive?
It feels good, but it’s better if there are drugs and something to drink.

Q. How do you describe haunted Leather sounds?
It’s hard to answer this objectively, we just play what we like.

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs ?
We record with our friend Matt and try to do as much of it live as possible.

Q. Which new bands do you recommended?
Bad Indians, Chit Chat, Electric Citizen, Abby GoGo, Heaters, Omecs…

Q: Which bands you love to made a cover version?
We haven’t done any covers yet, but if we did it’d be something like: Jesus and Mary Chain, Serge Gainsbourg, Sisters of Mercy, The Kinks, Velvet Underground, Fleetwood Mac, 13th Floor Elevators…

Q: What´s the plans for future....
We’re going on tour in May, we’ll be releasing a new album this year, and we want to keep releasing records that we like.
