Sky Gone Out with My Great Blue Cadillac - An Interview

***** Interview with My Great Blue Cadillac *****

1 : Q. When did My Great Blue Cadillac starts, tell us about the history...
Eddy : We started the band in 2012. I 've always played music alone or with other musicians and Louise wanted to learn guitar at first but she quickly felt at ease with bass guitar. A couple of months later the first songs were born as My Great Blue Cadillac, so we decided to get on stage quickly after that.

2: Q: Who are your influences?
Louise: We are very open minded about music and so we can listen to old black death metal, passing by 80' new wave and cold wave or heavy stuff . We need to feel an emotion and an atmopshere at first wathever the style. We haven't a proper style or artist that influences us...

3: Q. Made a list of 5 albuns of all time…
Eddy : Difficult question... Maybe "Closer" by Joy Division, "Slipknot" by Slipknot (old school!), all about Bauhaus, " Try Out" by Kas Product and the Crystal Castles firt album!

Louise: I can't choose an album really but all about Elvis Presley, Beatles, Serge Gainsbourg, The Kills and The Cure. Not really original but the classics to me! Sure I'll take one of those on a desert island!!

4: Q. How do you feel playing live?
Louise : That 's the best part of the job! Sharing our music, our universe with the audience and see it react!
It's as if an other part of us was on stage, maybe our animal side or bad side, expressing what we have deep inside.

Eddy: Most of the time, even 10 min after the show, I cant' remember what happened... That's very strange!

5: Q. How do you describe My Great Blue Cadillac´s sounds?
Louise: One day a friend said about our music: "When a drum shaggs a bass guitar, rock becomes anger". I think he totally defined My Great Blue Cadillac!

Eddy : I think we are possessed by something tribal, animal, hypnotic dark and heavy .

6: Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs ?
Eddy : As soon as we already have the idea and the structure of a song, the recording session is quick and simple.

Most of the time we try live our new songs before recording, and then, in studio, we try to be the closest from the live sessions.

7: Q. Which new bands do you recommended?
Louise: You have to listen to HAG (Fr)! He's a friend and he's playing bass guitar with many effects and a sampler, he's totally crazy on stage and proposes an experimental/trash/noisy music! And not so long ago we played with a band called The Doctors (Fr) , they are doing a very good Cold/Rock music!

8: Q: Which bands you love to made a cover version?
Eddy: At the beginning, we covered The Kills (Gispy death and you) on our gigs, but now we prefer working on our stuff trying to propose our own atmosphere. Original songs are mostly better than covers... In my point of view!

9: Q: What´s the plans for future....
Louise: For the moment we are looking for a label to help us to release our new ep called " In The Dust" (4 tracks, recorded at Taf Records) and we'll keep on touring around France and hope to go farther!

10: Q: Any parting words?
Louise & Eddy : See you on the road... ;-) "
