Drunken Butterfly with Bull in The Whisky Shop - An Interview

***** Interview with Bull in The Whisky Shop *****

Q. When did Bull in the Whisky Shop start, tell us about the history...
The band formed properly in the summer of this year. All the guys have been friends for many years and then came to meet Emily in Manchester and what with most other hobbies being pretty lame... and being in such a musical city, forming a band seemed the only logical thing to do.

Q: Who are your influences?
Big time Sonic Youth fans. Lots of Noise. Guitars. Although to be honest like a lot of people nowadays our tastes are spread across many genres. We are currently working on some mowtown covers believe it or not!

Q. Make a list of 5 albums of all time… (in no order)
Loveless - My Bloody Valentine
Journal for Plague Lovers - Manic Street Preachers
Dirty - Sonic Youth
Diary - Sunny Day Real Estate
John Martin - Grace and Danger

Q. How do you feel playing live?
Like a bull in a whisky shop

Q. How do you describe Bull in the Whisky Shop's sound?
Cynically optimistic and intimately noisy

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs ?
We record everything ourselves at the moment, and enjoy doing it too! Lots of Tea. We get through a box of tea every day.... on a good day. Recording our noise is not the easiest as there's not too many guidelines to go by with our music sometimes, but that makes it all the more fun

Q. Which new bands do you recommend?
A local band called Duke Mercury. Great guys, great sound. Louise Distras for her insane voice and we saw Allusondrugs live recently... that was insanely good. Grunge fans take note!

Q: What´s the plans for future....
To play live as much as possible and for as long as possible. There is nothing like playing original music live. As long as we can keep doing that I'm sure we will be happy.

Q: Any parting words?
Be kind. Be loud. Fuck hard.
