Glow in The Dark with Death Valley Girls - An Interview

Raramente a Burger Records dá uma bola fora, e definitivamente o que chega as páginas do TBTCI neste momento é absolutamente foda.

"Glow in The Dark" álbum recém lançado pela insanidade chamada Death Valley Girls é absolutamente obrigatório em qualquer coleção que se preze.

Proto punk, glam, noise, e tudo que se possa imaginar em termos de barulheira. Coloque na receita  NY Dolls, Stooges, L7, Cramps e mais um penca de referências e dá pra ter a dimensão do que se terá pela frente.

Rock and roll em sua forma mais clássica e primitiva, e mesmo assim simplesmente espetacular.

Q. When did DVG start? Tell us about the history...
DVG: You know how quick sand works? Well, we started the opposite way. Being shot out of liquid through space! It was really hot at first, then really cold, but that's about all I remember.

Q: Who are your influences?
DVG: Iggy Pop, Roky Erickson, John Waters, Gaye Advert, Mary Woronov among others, We'd like to also add "What" influence's us - Outer space, cryptozoology, hauntings & altered states are also some of our interests we get inspired by.

DVG: That's tough, here's 6...

Q. How do you feel playing live?
DVG: Like waking vampires after a 1000 year sleep


Q. How do you describe DVG´s sounds?
DVG; Paranormal Rock n' Roll - Music for Space age delinquents -
Twilight Zone make-out music for drive-ins of the future.

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs ?
DVG:We play them live in a room and then they get sucked out of the air onto an old reel to reel tape player which our recording commander Major Mark Rains then puts through an old film projector (formally owned by film maker Russ Meyer). After that they are ready to be released to the public.
