Mercurial Man with Luna Rosa - An Interview

Escute alto.

***** Interview with Luna Rosa *****

Q. When did Luna Rosa start? Tell us about the history...
We Started in 2014, we all met at a salsa class ran by El Binley, a wise confusing man. He told us a secret with his feet about the beat of music which we cant reveal. From there we've been trying to take his knowledge and encapsulate it into a sound.

Q: Who are your influences?
Individually we have a very broad taste of music and we all seem to cross over and agree at points, and that's were our sound comes from i suppose. Apart from music, people like Blade, Neo, Indiana Jones, Frank Reynolds, Ragnar Lodbrok you know, obvious choices...

Q. Make a list of 5 albums of all time…
Jimi Hendrix - Are you Experienced
Stone Roses - Stone Roses
Air - Moon Safari
Wu Tang clan - 36 chambers
Tribe Called Quest - Low End Theory

Q. How do you feel playing live?
Its a complete release. When all 4 of us are in unison and you know the sound is tight its a pretty overwhelming feeling no matter the venue or audience. Obviously its nice being applauded and seeing limbs flail, although you aren't close to these people in the 'real world' it doesn't seem to matter once the music breaks the barriers, that's the best feeling, seeing people enjoy themselves to something you've created.

Q. How do you describe Luna Rosa sounds?
Fruity Caramel Noize

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs?
We go in with the songs ready and ideas on overdubs and extra parts we cant do with just the four of us. Colde and Loveless the people that work with us in the studio help us get the sound we want. We show them a song and say we want the guitar or bass like this etc. and go from there.

Q. Which new bands do you recommend?
Local bands to us you should check out are The Good Apples, King Purple and Skirt

Q: Which band would you love to made a cover version of?
Not a band but a shoegaze version of a Serge Gainsbourg number would be fun.

Q: What are your plans for the future?
Keep gigging, recording and releasing music. And overthrow the current government whilst having fun.

Q: Any parting words?
Keep the faith and thank you
