Anyway, o outro som disponível no soundcloud deles é mais my bloodyiana, e tão sedutora quanto Automatic.
Os caras se preparam pra soltar o primeiro ep brevemente e mais surpresas vem para 2015.
O TBTCI acompanhara todos os passos do Car Crash Sisters, porque? Porque sim oras.
***** Interview with Car Crash Sisters *****
Q. When did Car Crash Sisters start, tell us about the history...
A. Car Crash Sisters started as a whole different idea of what we are now: 2 guitars, bass, sequencer and keyboards. Actually, we wanted to make something more like dream pop - ambient shoegaze - electronic, leaving the guitars in the background. Our name used to be "Sundance Sea", however, we let the music take the lead and we ended up with a real drummer and guitars as the main elements.
Q: Who are your influences?
We have a lot of influences. Although we are cataloged as a shoegaze, dream pop band and we are very influenced by Slowdive, Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine, Lush or Cocteau Twins, we also like other stuff like Mudhoney, Dinosaur Jr., Metz, Flying Saucer Attack and the Beach Boys.
Q. Make a list of 5 albums of all time…
This one is hard, but we'll give it a try:
1.-A night at the opera - Queen
2.-Pet Sounds - The Beach boys
3.-You're living all over me - Dinousaur Jr.
4.-Loveless - My bloody valentine
5.-Evol - Sonic youth
Q. How do you feel playing live?
A. Playing live is the best part of it all. Being able to listen and interpret our own songs to a very loud volumen and that exchange of energy with people, is something you can hardly achieve any other way. We like how sometimes we play with the songs, we like being spontaneous.
Q. How do you describe Car Crash Sisters´ sound?
I think our sound has to do with our influences, apart of the immediate relation with shoegaze, we like rock n roll, folk, surf, noise, dream pop and even grunge. Put everything in a blender and there you have Car Crash Sisters' sound.
Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs?
The recording process is pretty normal. We start with the drums or sequence, and then the bass. Usually, recording the guitars is a little more complex process, because we play with many types of distortions and arrangements, some of them don't even make it to the final mix. We can record a lot of guitar layers even though you can barely notice many of them.
Q. Which new bands do you recommended?
Ringo Deathstarr, Heliotropes, Metz, DIIV and yuck are among our (relatively) fav new bands.
Q: Which bands would you love to make a cover version of?
(Kique) I would actually love to cover some Cindy Lauper songs, probably "time after time". I've also been thinking about covering Paul Anka's "You are my destiny" and The Cure's "lovesong".
Q: What´s the plan for the future....
We want to release our first EP. We're actually reworking a lot of stuff we didn't like. We don't want to put out something we think lacks of quality. After that, we want to play live in different cities and write enough songs to record our first EP. But of course, a lot of things can happen. We're not that good planning things, some things have to happen depending on the situation. For example. our first idea was to record a concept album called "the crystal garden" I had the whole concept. But we decided to just record an EP, so I think we'll let the music guide us.
Q: Any parting words?
Thank you Renato and everyone involved in "The Blog that celebrates itself", we appreciate what you do to help bands like us reach more people. Cheers!
